One of the goals that I wanted to achieve in this class was to use my time more efficiently. I used a planner to write down everything I have to do each day. Then, I tried my best to organize everything base on the importance of the tasks. Scheduling my work really helped me to get them done faster and I felt less stressed out. I planned ahead so that I had enough time to do homework, work, and have free time. I also tried to not procrastinate when doing my assignments. Since I made a schedule everyday, there was less chance for me to procrastinate. However, I am still working on to balance my schedule between work and school.
Another goal I had was to improve my health. I used to get sick frequently because I would stay up late and sleep very little. This semester I tried to sleep much earlier and get up earlier. This change helped me stay more focus in class and I felt that I learned much better. So, I hope to keep this habit. Cooking my own food is another way I attempt to become healthier. Dining out can be really unhealthy compared to eating at home. Even though my cooking didn’t taste as good, I still try to make my own food. Lastly, exercising more by going to the gym was another way to be healthier. It allowed me to stay fit and be stronger.
My last goal was to develop better study habits. I tried to take good notes in class and during study time. Taking notes was a crucial aspect of doing well on exams and succeeding in class. For a few of my classes, the professor base our tests on their lecture and power point. When it came to test time my notes really helped me study. In addition, I began to annotate while I read and search up any word that I am not sure of. I often highlight or underline passages so I can refer back to it. This strategy allowed me to understand the material better and retain for a longer amount of time.
